Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 July 2026
This template is provided for transparency and follows the EU GDPR and the Portuguese data-protection framework. Please have it reviewed by a qualified lawyer before relying on it for your specific situation.
This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is collected and processed when you visit argenis.dev (the "Site") or contact me through it. I respect your privacy and process data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the "GDPR") and Portuguese Law no. 58/2019.
1. Data Controller
The data controller is Argenis, an independent freelance developer based in Portugal. For any privacy request, contact:info@argenis.dev.
2. What data I collect
- Contact form data — your name, email address, company/URL, budget range and project brief, which you submit voluntarily.
- Technical data — IP address, browser/device information and request logs, processed by the hosting/CDN provider to deliver and secure the Site.
- Anti-spam data — Cloudflare Turnstile processes a token and limited device signals to confirm you are human when you submit the form.
- Consent preference — your cookie choice, stored locally in your browser (see the Cookie Policy).
I do not knowingly collect special categories of data, and the Site is not directed at children under 16.
3. Why I process it, and the legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6) |
|---|---|
| Respond to your enquiry and discuss potential work | Pre-contractual steps / legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(b)/(f)) |
| Deliver, secure and maintain the Site | Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Prevent spam and abuse of the form | Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Privacy-friendly site analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) | Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
4. Service providers (processors)
I share data only with providers that help operate the Site, under data-processing agreements:
- Cloudflare, Inc. — hosting, CDN, Turnstile bot protection, and privacy-first Web Analytics (cookieless).
- Resend — delivery of contact-form emails to my inbox.
Website fonts are self-hosted on this domain, so no font data is sent to third parties.
5. International transfers
Some providers are based outside the EU/EEA (e.g. in the United States). Where data is transferred internationally, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
6. Retention
Contact-form messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting relationship, and then deleted. Technical logs are kept for a short period for security and diagnostics. Your cookie preference stays in your browser until you clear it or it expires (12 months).
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access, rectify or erase your personal data;
- restrict or object to processing;
- data portability;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing;
- lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise any right, email info@argenis.dev.
8. Supervisory authority
In Portugal, the supervisory authority is the CNPD — Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (www.cnpd.pt). You may also contact the authority in your EU country of residence.
9. Changes
I may update this policy; the "last updated" date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
